The Ministry of Defence was introduced in serial production of the hard military equipment such as the Pantsir-S1 air defence missile/gun system in the first place, and the BMP-2M Berezhok infantry fighting vehicle and the Bakhcha-U fighting compartment as well.

Dmitrii Konoplev, Deputy Director General with JSC «NPO «High Precision Weapons» and Managing Director with JSC “KBP” reported to the Ministry of Defence on the work progress in the frame of the governmental defence order. Sergei Shoigu was also introduced in the innovative samples in the field of armoured vehicles, missiles, antitank guided weapons and small arms which are being developed to meet the requirements of the Russian customer and as a company’s own initiative. The company’s civil production sector was presented by hunting and sporting weapons and medical laser systems. All the tasks are being performed by the company in full scope and due time.

The Ministry of Defence was also acquainted with new solutions in respect of armoured vehicles modernization variants which can be realized in the nearest time and delivered in service with the army. The upgraded fighting compartment will allow to increase combat vehicle power by 4-6 times. The core of the new compartment is the automated fire control system; the Kornet and Arkan ATGW family; 30 mm 2A42 and 2A72 guns family; 100 mm 2A70 cannon capable to luanch Arkan guided missiles and to fire Vishnya conventional projectiles; 30 mm automatic grenade launcher with GPD-30 grenades.

The Ministry of Defence was reported about new ATGW and improvement solutions for the weapon systems delivered in troops earlier; artillery guided weapon systems of new quality; multi-service missile systems capable against stand-off and hard targets.

Nowadays the Pantsir-S1 air defence missile and gun system is widely spread in the Russian army. It provides reliable protection from any aerial threat. The unique Pantsir-S1 peculiarity is availability of a combat vehicle carrying on one and the same platform state-of-the-art search and tracking radar integrated with two formidable types of antiaircraft armament – missiles and guns. Pantsir-S1 is capable of mission on the move to hamper its own detection and destruction by the enemy and thus to boast high survivability. Yet a covered asset will remain under protection. This mission-on-the-move capability allows Pantsir-S1 to successfully escort combat vehicles on their march.
