Defexpo India - 2018

From 11 to 14 April 2018 the KBP delegation within the joint exposition of the JSC "High Precision Weapons” took part in the Defexpo India International Exhibition of Land and Naval Systems. This exhibition ranks among the most significant defense industry exhibitions in Asia - the exhibition of land, naval and internal forces as well as of state security systems.

In the course of the Defexpo India 2018 in Chennai the JSC “KBP” exposition was visited by Nirmala Sitaraman, the Indian MoD Minister. She familiarized herself with the represented products and asked a number of questions related to the Pantsir-ME ADMGS and BMP-2M Berezhok weapon as the KBP delegation head was delivering a report.

The joint grandstand of the “High Precision Weapons” holding company offered the most promising and advanced military products in the market from a number of companies incorporated in the holding company: JSC “KBP”, Nudelman Precision Engineering Design Bureau (“KB Tochmash”), JSC “VNII “Signal”, JSC “KEMP” (Kovrov), JSC “V.A. Degtyarev Plant” (Kovrov, Vladimir region).

Andrey V. Morozov, the head of the delegation, noted that the exposition had been formed considering interests of the particular market in specific products, in this case of the Indian market, as well as development of new items by the companies, including necessity of these items and proper timing of their representation: "We offer advanced defense items that the Indian party can purchase via Rosoboronexport as finished products as well as opportunities for joint weapons production at Indian factories under the “Made in India” concept. The centerpieces by KBP at the exhibition were the Pantsir-ME naval system shown for the first time, the BMP-2M Berezhok weapon and the 12.7mm automatic assault weapon system with a powerful cartridge. Participation in any exhibition brings new opportunities for market expansion and mutually advantageous cooperation as well as it is valuable for specialists in terms of skill-sharing”, stated the delegation head. Our work with India began in 1990s. One of the first Indian delegations was received by academician Arkadiy G. Shipunov. The cooperation began with the Konkurs weapon”.

The JSC “KBP” booth displayed air defense systems, armored vehicle weapons, ATGWs as well as small arms and grenade launchers. The Pantsir-S1 air-defense missile-gun system, Kornet-EM ATGW as well as 155 mm KM-1M Krasnopol-M2 guided weapon, Bur small-size grenade launching system, KM-8 Gran guided weapon for 120 mm mortars, Bakhcha fighting module with the standard or upgraded weapon system were demonstrated among the exhibits in the form of data boards and models.
